Description:
Bump! is the world’s first and most watched gay and lesbian travel television series. Broadcast internationally, the show features the informative, practical and entertaining travel adventures of sexy gay soap star Charlie David, acclaimed lesbian playwright Shannon McDonough and model J.R. Anderson. Catering to the discriminating tastes of the gay traveler, each installment of the series presents a new gay-friendly destination in a stylish and upbeat format. Viewers are taken on a personal tour of each locale, including interviews with local celebrities, personalities, gay icons and passersby to give the viewer an accurate and entertaining perspective they can relate to. Bump! also delves into the always-intriguing (and often risqué) social scene of the destination. From coffeehouses, beaches, historical sites, nightclubs, gay shopping, circuit parties and more, the show explores where and how people connect for fun and love. Each episode gives a travelogue of the location, covering attractions, neighborhoods and events — all from a gay perspective.
Now find the Bump! adventures of Charlie, Shannon and J.R. on DVD!
Paris:
It's Charlie David's first stop as the new male host of Bump! as he visits gay Paris! To get his bearings, he takes a walking tour of the gayest of gay Paris, the Le Marais district, and visits Absolu Living to book the best gay accommodation that Paris has to offer. Raring to go, Charlie hits-up the annual Rainbow Attitude Expo — a visual feast for the eyes — with everything gay anyone would want under one pink roof. Then it's off to visit some fine art at The Orsay, the world's first and only museum dedicated exclusively to gay-themed art and artifacts. Culturally satisfied, Charlie makes a pit-stop at bar Le Raidd which causes him to really get his hunger on, so he's off to learn the fine art of French cooking. Mastering the culinary arts, he stops by a local restaurant for the world's most decadent chocolate cake. To burn off all of those calories, it's time to party the night away with a bar tour culminating in a visit to Queen, Paris' oldest gay dance club located centrally on the Avenue de Champs Elysses. Gay Paris indeed!
Berlin:
Berlin gets off to a busy start as Charlie takes us to the Mann-O-Meter, a must-stop for all that is gay in Berlin followed by a Diva's And Gay Icon's walking tour of the city. Along the way, we stop at Schwulesmuseum, a gay museum and Bruno's, a vast gay media and bookstore, as well as a few gay cafes. We'll also meet Monika, the woman most in the know about the queer scene in Berlin since the early 1970's. After a rest at the chic Arco Hotel, it's off to sample the very hip restaurant scene including dinner and drinks at Zoe and More, followed by a bar and club tour including the Halloween Masquerade at club Café.
Amsterdam:
Charlie gets settled at a unique hotel in Amsterdam, the Golden Bear, where the rooms are anything but ordinary! Then Charlie takes Bump! viewers on a whirlwind tour of Amsterdam, starting with a visit to the gay tourist information center Pink Point at the foot of the word's only monument dedicated to gay concentration camp victims, The Homo Monument. From there we hear and see what makes Amsterdam's gay pride unique: it's held on barges floating down the numerous canals that ring the city. After a bit of shopping that includes Charlie being fit for leather chaps, it's time to experience an uber-fab restaurant at SupperClub - a restaurant with a rather unusual washroom set-up. Finally, Charlie hits Amsterdam's bar-scene, which proves that there is something for just about every kind of queer taste in this world class city.
